Final tips for third years and sixth years

😵‍💫 Stuck on a Question?
Start with the short ones or the easiest-looking Qs.
It’ll help re-activate your memory and ease the stress. 🧩

📵 Airplane Mode = Power Mode
In-between & after exams:
Put your phone on airplane mode.
Don't waste time analysing or stressing about what others thought.
Focus forward — next subject, next win. 🚀

🍳 BREAKFAST MATTERS!
Eat before you go in.
Even something small will fuel your brain.
Walk or chill before the exam if you can — lower stress, better focus.
Third and sixth year students - remember the follo Third and sixth year students - remember the following :

Small actions = big results!

🧠 Each day, revise one tricky topic:

🔬 Practice a Genetics Q

🗺️ Test yourself on Geo SRPs

➗ Do some Maths problems

Use red pen to highlight rules & common mistakes.

📝 Long Qs? Mindmap It!

Instead of full answers, draw mindmaps for long questions. This is a great way to spot missing quotes, points, or examples — fast!

🧠💡

📅 Don’t Just Focus on 1 Subject!

Yes, the next exam matters...

But ALL subjects count for points.

Even if you’re confident — give them a quick review. It could be the difference between a H2 and H3! 📈

😴 Sleep = Strategy

Cramming late is a no go!

You need real energy for exam days.

🚫 No screens 40 mins before bed

🛌 Aim to be asleep by 9/10pm

🎓 DCG Excellence Recognised Nationally 🎓 We 🎓 DCG Excellence Recognised Nationally 🎓

We are proud to announce that former students Delvin Louis and Sam McLoughlin, have been awarded national recognition by the TechnoTeachers Association for obtaining Joint 1st Place in Design & Communication Graphics(Higher Level) in the Leaving Certificate Examinations 2024.

To have one student attain this honour is a significant achievement. To have two from the same class in the same school is exceptional.

Both students returned to the Br. Stephen Deignan Library on Saturday morning, where they were presented with their awards by Principal Mr. Tom Bourke, joined by their families and their DCG teacher Mr. Tim Brosnan.

Mr. Brosnan’s contribution to their success was also formally recognised. His high standards, student-centred teaching methods, and ongoing commitment to student achievement have previously received national acknowledgement and this latest accolade further reflects the strength of his work.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Delvin and Sam and wish them continued success in their university studies, Aeronautical Engineering and Immersive Software Engineering, respectively.

Celebrating Our Fantastic First Years This week, Celebrating Our Fantastic First Years

This week, we took time to celebrate the excellent behaviour and positive contributions of our first-year students throughout the year.

Class 1DD topped the charts with the most positive points on VSware and enjoyed some well-deserved treats. Meanwhile, 1RM and 1CaD achieved a brilliant feat – zero negative points all year – and marked the occasion with a well-earned pizza lunch.

In addition, 42 individual students who consistently earned positive points for their contributions to school life celebrated with ice cream and a lively game of basketball during the final class on Friday.

Well done to all our first years – you've made a fantastic impact on our school community. We’re already looking forward to seeing what you’ll achieve next year.
Today, students from De La Salle College, accompan Today, students from De La Salle College, accompanied by their teachers, took part in a beautiful May Procession in honour of Our Lady.

Led by Fr Kevin from the Home of the Mother, nearly 100 boys followed the statue of Our Lady in a moving display of faith and reverence. Together, we prayed the Rosary and sang hymns, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.

It was a special moment of devotion and community for all involved.
A Night to Remember – Summer Concert at De La Sa A Night to Remember – Summer Concert at De La Salle

Last Monday night, College De La Salle came alive with music, laughter, and celebration at our annual summer concert – and what a night it was!

The evening was packed with fantastic performances from our talented students, along with a few surprise guests that kept the crowd on their toes. The energy, creativity, and joy on stage truly captured the spirit of our school.

This year’s concert was especially meaningful as it was dedicated to the retirement of one of our music teachers, Pamela Harrison. Pamela has been at the heart of our musical life for many years, bringing passion, dedication, and her incredible talent to every performance, rehearsal, and school event. Her contribution to music at De La Salle has been nothing short of extraordinary, and she will be dearly missed.

Everyone who attended left with smiles on their faces and music in their hearts – a true celebration of our school’s creativity, community, and spirit.

Thank you to all involved for making it such a memorable evening.
Congratulations to Our TY Classes Huge well done Congratulations to Our TY Classes

Well done, TY Class of 2025.
