The morning began with a visit to a busy St Peter’s Basilica, including the obligatory climb to the top of the dome — well worth the effort for the incredible views.
In the afternoon, a walking tour of Rome’s main sights included a surprise visit to a Lasallian school near the Spanish Steps. Some shopping was also squeezed into the day… and into suitcases ahead of their return home on Sunday.
It was wonderful to see the boys confidently navigating the metro one last time. The trip has been thoroughly enjoyable, giving students the opportunity to experience Rome’s rich history and culture, build friendships, develop independence, and create lasting memories together.

In the afternoon, the boys visited the Mother House, where they toured the museum and viewed the relics of De La Salle. They also enjoyed some time on the astro turf pitches, finishing the day with a lively game of football.
Another great day of learning, culture, and fun.

Five JCSP students — Liam O'Halloran , Dylan Kelly, Michael Burke, Alfie Power and Shane Lindsay— took part in the Oide Make a Book event earlier today.

Their book, “Pack it Light, Wear it Right”, explored how heavy backpacks can affect the spine. They showed the correct way to wear your bag, which is especially important in a school with so many flights of stairs! The students presented their project and enjoyed viewing other schools’ work.

🎨 A fun highlight of the day was creating Jemily, Queen of the Jellyfish 🪼👑 — a big part of the celebrations!

👏 Well done to all involved!

➗ February Focus: Proofreading in Maths Proofre ➗ February Focus: Proofreading in Maths

Proofreading isn’t just for English.
In Maths, it can be the difference between losing marks and earning them.

Students are encouraged to:
✔ Show all workings – method marks matter
✔ Double-check signs (+ − × ÷)

✔ Make sure answers make sense

👉 Student challenge:
Before handing in your work, ask yourself:
“Have I shown every step and checked my signs?”

👉 Parent support:
Ask your son to talk you through how they got their answer, not just what the answer is.

Small checks. More marks. Better outcomes.
